Everyone is unique, so every one likes to get their own perfume. Scent Lab provide a perfume making experience for customers to test and combine different scents. Also this making process aims to help customers leave unique scents and lasting memories in the world.

Scent Lab is located at 50 Arab Street in Kampong Glam historic district. 

Kampong Glam historic district is a famous tourists site that many visitors will come.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

People use perfume and buy perfume. The fragrance market has huge potential. The perfumes sold in the store are the scents prepared by the brand, not necessarily the scents in people's hearts. The emergence of perfume workshops will enable people to have the ability to make their favorite perfumes.

CURRENT SITUATION 

There is a perfume and scented candle shop not far from the site, which will compete head-to-head. 
Now the shops that make perfumes and learn perfumes only provide fragrance mixing services to make perfumes. People cannot experience the complete perfume making procedures, which is a loss for those who like to make perfumes.
Today's offline commercial spaces have higher demands on design than ever before, and a single-function experience space can no longer satisfy the new generation of groups. Therefore, when designing, it should be more expected to establish a deeper connection with customers offline, transmit brand value, and thus establish higher customer stickiness.

Create space for people to smell scent, learn the process of making perfume and make their own perfume.
Compared with other ordinary perfume shops, it must be ingenious. It should be more expected to establish a deeper connection with customers offline, transmit store value, and thus establish higher customer stickiness, developing an innovative solution to meet and exceed customers’ expectations.

CREATIVE STRATEGY 

1.Create media space and experiential scene

-    Perfume is liquid, intangible, and gaseous. It is always in changing along the atmosphere though the time. The space as imagined container for perfume came into being. The dynamic and multi-level feature of fragrance was interpreted and became tangible in the interior design.
-    apply the “media space” research and practical experience in the tangible design of smell, and integrate the virtual content with the physical space.

2.Multi-sensory experience
-This project made a breakthrough in the design of tangible smell experience. Unlike the traditional commercial spaces, whose primacy were visual experience at scale.

3.Interactive space design

-    apply interactive space design method in this project to strengthen the participation in creating memorable experience.
-    Synesthesia interaction: a moving image, odor, sound combined multi-sensory space. By picking up the receiver, the customers will trigger the change of background sound and the video, immerse themselves in the situation of a specific perfume while squeeze and release the odor. The synesthesia experience connects with memory and impressive the customers.
-    Content interaction: an interactive process that makes people have a strong desire to explore. Customers touch the digital content and get immediate response while being amused by the interaction.

First floor layout plan: as the spread of scent is separated to different direction, several routines are designed for people to walk around. 

 

Second Floor to Fifth floor layout plans: as the design intention is to create a step by step trip, only one way is saved for customers to walk, which helps customers to take part in the process of making perfume.

Relaxing Pantry: a Place for customers to relaxing themselves. This area provide coffee machines for people making coffee to drink and provide sofa for customers to relaxing, refreshing noses and Waiting for clamping and packaging perfume.

Perfume exhibition: a place to attract visitors and help visitors learn basic knowledge about perfume.

Perfume shop: a place to sell perfumes to those who wants to buy finished perfumes instead of making their own perfume.

Categorys of Scents available: fruity, leather, oriental, woods, floral, earthy, spicy

Level 1 -- Exhibition & Shop

Level 2 -- Scent rooms

Drinking pantry: a place for customers to smell coffee beans and drinking coffees to refresh their noses before making perfume.

Scent rooms: Same as scent rooms in level 2.

Level 3 -- Scent rooms & Pantry & Toilet

Scent rooms: create several small "Pocket Space" for customers to smell different scents. Each scent room, with air purifier to refresh scents, provide one category of scent. One category of scents provide several types of aromas.

Level 4 -- Laboratory

Laboratory: a place for customers to do "experiments", like testing scents, combining scents and blending scents. Clamping area and packing area is included in the Lab for customers to make their owns perfume unique.

Level 5 -- Toilet & Pantry
